When a tarantula, which has been injected with the special nutrient, escapes from the laboratory, it grows into a 100 foot leviathan that terrorises the Arizona countryside.

The first manned spacecraft to visit Venus returns to Earth crashing in the Mediterranean close to an Italian fishing village. Colonel Calder, the ship's Commander, is saved from drowning by the locals. Meanwhile, a young boy salvages a strange alien specimen. The retrieved specimen starts to grow at an alarming rate, threatening devastation in the city of Rome, and forcing the military to take action.
