Guy Montag is a fireman of the future, whose job it is to burn books on behalf of a government afraid of an independent-thinking public. He has to burn books on sight after being given their location by informants. He soon starts to question the government's motives.

Forbidden Planet

The film is set in the 23rd century. A saucer shaped cruiser is sent to the planet Altair IV to investigate the disappearance of the members of a colony expedition sent 20 years previously. They are met by Dr. Edward Morbius, who explains to them that the members were killed by an unknown force and that the only surviving members are himself and his daughter Altaira.
